While on a picnic you and your friends decide to go sailing, unfortunately, your boat capsizes in a violent storm. However all of you manage to swim to safety. Give a vivid account of the incident.
Our school normally starts in the second week of June and since we were busy studying the whole month of May because we are in Std.10 this year and it is considered to be the most important year of our lives.
My school friends' group thought that all the studying had really exhausted us and we needed a short break so we decided to go for a one day picnic to a lake resort near Neral.
We left for the picnic on Thursday so that we could rest for two days before school. On reaching the picnic spot our first activity for the day was to go sailing along the river. The sky was cloudy, but the boatman, said that this is normal weather in June and we should not worry.
As our sailing started, it also started drizzling and in a few minutes it started raining heavily with strong winds that made the boat rock violently. We could not return and the wind carried our boat further into the lake. The next ten seconds were shocking, in one strong gust of wind the boat flew high and capsized right in the middle of the river.
For the next few minutes all that could be heard was screaming and yelling of the whole gang. In the next second the life guards jumped into the river and swam towards us and each of them helped two friends to swim safely to the shore. The boatman brought the boat back on his own.
Back on the shore we were taken to our tents to change into dry clothes and given some hot tea and snacks to control our fear and shivering. We were scared with this near death experience and had to call our parents to take us back home.
As we shared this experience with our class in school some of them began to think of us as heroes who overcome difficult situations and come out alive and smiling.
